Nashville is a “big town/small town” and those who have lived here long enough know exactly what I mean. No matter where you go you always seem to run into someone from Nashville. On a recent vacation trip to Tampa I walked into a random bar to check out some music I was hearing from the street. I had no clue who the band was but they sounded great! In-between songs I could have swore the lead singer said they were from Nashville and sure enough they were. The band I was hearing was Parachute Musical. At the end of their set I spoke to Josh Foster, the lead singer of the band, who directed me to their website where there are 3 songs available for download as part of their Season Greetings EP.

The one we are offering from this set of songs is “One More Song”. Parachute Musical’s sound is along the same lines as Ben Folds, & Rufus Wainwright yet uniquely their own. “One More Song” is about the struggles of dealing with same situation over & over in life, but coming up with no answers or getting no results. Sometimes it’s best just to let go & move on. Josh’s soaring vocals give the lyrics even more meaning & the end result is a well produced piano driven song. If you’re into the music of Ben Folds or Death Cab for Cutie definitely give these guys a listen. Go to ParachuteMusical.com to check out the rest of the songs on the Seasons Greetings EP. Parachute Musical is touring around the US but will be back in Nashville to play 12th & Porter on August 20th.

Some of ya’ll are probably thinking, “Brad, Parachute Musical is kind of a big deal. How have you not heard of these guys?!?” Well to be honest I’m kind of behind on a lot of the great music in this town so that’s why I need you all to send me stuff! If you’re in a band, know a band, or are just a fan of a band send me their music. Our only requirement is that they must be local & have an MP3 that we can post here for free. Tour dates & a bio would be nice as well. E-mail me at MCIFreeSingle@gmail.com & I’ll make sure to review your stuff & consider it for the next MCI Free Single of the Week!
