What Can Kanye West Teach You About Social Media?

For the past month, Kanye West has been releasing new material through his Twitter page in a series titled “G.O.O.D. Fridays.” Individual tracks have been released every Friday in weekly updates to Kanye’s one-million-plus followers, and consequently follow the path from Internet meme to viral grand slam. One reason could be that his career has enticed a huge audience, although most won’t admit to being a Kanye fan. His compelling personality leads him to elicit cultural taboos in often-uncomfortable circumstances. Since most people get their media over the Internet, an artist with an intense magnitude of attention by fans and media alike finds a lot of success releasing music this way.
